The goals of group therapy include creating an atmosphere of comfort and trust while providing psychoeducation about experiences at an interpersonal level. Our group therapy emphasizes the development of coping strategies, the identification of relational problems, and the mastery of personal control. It is used to develop socialization techniques.
Sometimes, talking in a group can provide a person with learning opportunities simply not achievable with individual sessions. Together with similar peers and more than one therapist, group therapy intends to make patients talk in confidence about their disruptive experiences and accordingly receive the advice and comfort of the group.
We shall recommend the appropriate groups and methods for the sessions after we gather an initial psychiatric diagnosis.
